Tightwad Gazette

July 31st, 2006 at 03:00 pm

I read this last week, in the early hours of the morning, another few nights of sleep when i was wide awake.
I loved the ideas and really need to fine tune my goals. Love the muffin recipe, good to have on those days when i need breakfast on the run. Loved some of the ideas for canning and home ideas, some items don't apply as i do not have children. I really find reading about personal finance and frugal/simple living very facinating. Just need to incorporate into my life.

Off to the store, would like to make can salsa tonight.

Back to Saving Advice

July 31st, 2006 at 02:57 pm

Things have been wild around here, so much happening, with very little spare time, hoping that things slow down a little in the next little bit. As usual with me when i get super busy i tend to not take care of myself (drive throughs/more caffiene/less water & sleep) Also the finances take a beating, i am hoping that i can start back today, start tracking my spending and also get a few things done around the house. Have a list a mile long, time to start plugging away at that.

Electrasol freebies

June 6th, 2006 at 09:28 pm

Just had dinner and packed breakfast and lunch for tomorrow.
Had a few goodies in the mail.
SAmple of Carnation Breakfast powder i tried it when i was waiting for dinner to cook, not bad, might be nice when i need something sweet, could mix with soy milk. Also contains coupon fpr a free box (6 envelopes in box)

Also a sample for Electrasol 3in1 power tabs for the dishwasher. The sample is a package of 15, plus coupons for more tabs, buy one package of 15 get one package of 15 for free. Very useful and i have never tried the green apple ones before. Overall a very nice mail day.
Now must figure out a coupon system for when they come in the mail, yet i don't have any shopping planned for a little bit. Really trying to control clutter.

Spending for today!

June 6th, 2006 at 06:45 pm

Okay must learn how to use this blog site as i have just typed a long entry and lost it.
Today spending did not go as well as planned, seems like when i think i am going to have a low spending day the opposite happens, better planning tomorrow for meals will make a huge differnce. Here is what i spent today:
$20.90 Breakfast with niece, before i dropped her off at school
$6.30 drive through for lunch, did not bring lunch to work
$18.69 paid for Ebay purchase (actually purchased for ideas as i need to make up some items to sell at a craft fair)
$3.23 (purchases at Drug store: packing tape, sinus cold meds, hair color, coil notebook, i used my points to pay for purchase $25.00 worth, the amount is for what i went over)
$7.03 charged on account as i listed 10 items tonight (love when i get that done, time consuming but nice to have them listed)

also listed 21 items with Amazon.ca no fees paid up front until items sell.

Well i have been listing items for the past 4 hours so i am now going to head up and have dinner and open the mail for the day!

It's Time!

Today i start my blog, i have been meaning to for awhile and there is no time like the present. My goals are to continue to learn about money, simplify my home so that i can enjoy my time more, keep better handle on my money and what i am going with it. I must get serious and pay down debt. Wish my luck as i begin my online journey...very exciting!
Tonight's plan list a few things on ebay that have been cluttering my space, it will be the first of many listings. Money will go on one cc, (there are several! i look forward to seeing the balance drop and space free up in my house! Finally some sunshine here, have a great day.
